Real Ale

The Buddle Inn is a BeerPoint recommended pub. BeerPoint is the Isle of Wight branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.

Here at the Buddle Inn we maintain six real ales all year. The line up of ales changes on a monthly basis, however there are a few mainstay ales which are on most of the year to include Gales HSB and Island brewery’s Yachtsman’s Ale. We also have guest ales from brewery’s  such as Itchen Valley brewery, Andwell brewery and far to many others to list here.  The Itchen Valley’s Russian Winter at 5.3% abv, a dark winter ale is very popular in the winter and will be making its appearance on the bar very soon.  Andwell’s King John at 4.2% abv a rich amber beer is also very popular.

In the summer months you can also expect to see all the local ales including ales from Yates Brewery and Goddards Brewery. Also Itchen Valley brewery is back again in the summer with their Hambledon Bitter at 4.0% abv a light refreshing golden beer brewed with honey and elderflower.

Other brewery’s that you can often see on the bar are Arundel Brewery, Ringwood Brewery and Jennings brewery’s Crag Rat.

We are always happy to offer tasters to our customers so that you can try before you buy. 

Cask ale fans will also be pleased to hear that we will be holding two beer festivals next year with plenty of ales to choose from, entertainment and a barbeque.  Dates to be confirmed.
